A modern take on a semainier, complete with vanity mirror and nine variable depth drawers, provides ample storage for all things. The top drawer, conveniently slim, is the ideal space for watches, ties or jewelry. Different from traditional cabinets and dressers, each individual brass wrapped wooden drawer rotates open on a single hinge. Through its materials and design, the Semainier transforms the classic french semainier into an innovative, practical, and stylishly modern necessity. Made of walnut and patinated brass, Gentner’s modern semainier is completely handcrafted in Chicago.

Christopher Gentner
Christopher Gentner, with a BFA in metalsmithing from the Cleveland Institute of Art and apprenticeships under sculptors and jewelers, together with dedication to craft, quickly developed his reputation nationally as a foremost authority of metal fabrication and furniture.
One of his crowning achievements was the re-creation and fabrication of the Frank Lloyd Wright Robie House gates.
These unique experiences are the foundation of his design philosophy which he employs in his own line of furniture, lighting, and objects.
