Vintage Design
Large Louis XV flat desk opening with three drawers in tulipwood marquetry. This frisage is made with the plank side (“bois de fil”) in fern assemblage. Standing in four curved legs, sinuous apron slightly thicker under the two lateral drawers, chantourné top. Nice chiseled and gilt bronze ornamentation, an ingot mould frames the tray embellished with shells sprandrels. Other ornaments in the Louis XV style as tumultuous lock entries, foliaged swirls angles and shoes adorned the desk. Black leather top hit with little gilt iron, with nice use patina. Work from the late 19th century. Good condition, consistent with age and use of the object.
