This exceptional piece by Italian sculptor and designer Giuseppe Rivadossi is a testament to his exquisite woodworking skills. This monumental wardrobe displays an intricate design, where the two sides of this storage piece are in use. The one side features a cabinet with shelving and a glass window. Underneath, a drawer is situated and beneath that a larger cabinet. When the viewer moves over to the other side of the wardrobe, a large sliding door decorated with rectangular notches is seen. The notches are creating a captivating rhythmic and tactile surface on the door. Behind the sliding door there is plenty of room to store garments. Crafted from high-quality walnut wood, the main structure is expertly assembled using intricate wood joinery techniques. This choice of material not only accentuates the natural beauty of the piece but also imbues a warm, inviting ambiance into any room. Rivadossi’s discerning eye for materialization and technical precision is fully showcased in this sideboard, highlighting his mastery in creating timeless and beautiful furniture. The beauty of this bedroom divider lies in its unexpected and explorative nature.
Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi’s path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962 Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established ‘Officina Rivadossi’ in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture.
Kindly note that this piece is in good, used condition. There is a cutout in the wood on the bottom of the piece, covered by a piece of wood. Please reach out to our design specialists for further information.
