“When I was asked by M.Legere to do this project, I liked the idea of the blue ink color of the ballpoint pen on white Limoges porcelain.” – Artist Joanne Greenbaum. This egalitarian ballpoint gives this series pride of place among blue and white porcelain and earthenware throughout history, from 9th century Chinese to Staffordshire and Delftware, and the greatness of Limoges porcelain.
The porcelain just-about contains the energy of these dynamic ball point sketches for M.Legere, culled from the pages of her private sketch books, that look like moving parts of an electronic device that are ready to spiral into any direction. It’s the expression of possibility and potential, much like a dinner party with an unexpected mix of guests.
The artist’s signature, along with Haviland and M.Legere’s insignias are featured on the bottom of each multicolored plate and bowl. Measures: Dinner plate (11 in./28 cm diameter), salad plate (8 in./22.5cm diameter), dessert plate (7.5 in. /19cm diameter), and bowl (6.25 in./16 cm arcs inward to a 3.25 in./8 cm bottom diameter, 3 in./8 cm height).
