Vintage Design
The middle of the table hides a well sized circle shaped turning top, which makes a nice and practical feature.
The ”ND150 Badminton” chairs are made in chromed tubular steel and the backrest and seat are in wood lacquered white with the original white leatherette upholstery. This set of chairs was designed by Nanna Ditzel and Jørgen Ditzel. They were originally designed for the Glostrup County Hospital near Copenhagen were they were to be placed in the auditorium.
The faux leather upholstery of this set is in very good condition.
Nanna Ditzel (1923-2005) was a cabinetmaker and became a furniture designer in 1946, and worked together with her husband Jørgen Ditzel (1921-1961). Nanna Ditzel was a designer who was focused on the use, need and function of furniture. Her style is therefore very approachable and useful but at times also bold and experimental. Ditzel made use of innovative techniques and materials.
