C. 1950’s “Sparkling Seascape” Original Oil Painting by Swedish Artist, Ragnar Ring

Lovely original midcentury rocky seascape painting by Swedish artist Ragnar Ring (1908-1999). Measures 17.25″ x 18″ including frame. Presented in its original wood frame with subtle gold edging and linen liner. Oil on canvas is in excellent condition.

Artist’s Biography:

Ragnar Ring (Georg Sigurd RAGNAR) was a visual artist and draftsman born on June 13, 1908 in Slättåkra in Halland county, Sweden.

Education: He pursued art studies via correspondence courses 1934–1936 and private studies for Waldemar Lorentzon 1939–1940 as well as study trips to Germany and the Netherlands.

Exhibitions: Separately he exhibited at Tylöhus, Laholm, Falkenberg, Rydaholm and Markaryd, among others. He participated in collective exhibitions arranged by Sweden’s free artists’ association in several places in the country. His art consists of still lifes, portraits and surreal compositions executed in oil or colored chalk. Alongside his own creations, he made advertising drawings and illustrations for Hallandsposten.

Ragnar Ring passed away on June 13, 1999 in Oskarström, Sweden.
