19th Century English Colonial Campaign Chest Trunk With Concealed Compartments

This is a stunning, intricately carved 19th century colonial campaign chest trunk with brass hardware. British soldiers took these trunks to their campaigns with clothing and small items. A mirror in the lid was used for shaving. The trunk could also be used for a writing desk. The artificial flowers in the lid were to remind the soldier of his loved one back home. This chest also has numerous compartments to discover and remove to access the larger storage compartment. A remarkable find!
