A wonderful whimsical pair of Qing Dynasty (1636-1912) Cloissone Elephant Inkwells. During the Qing Dynasty animals and birds in cloisonné were popular. These could have been used on an artist’s desk for water or as inkwells and are extremely rare. They would be amazing on display. The condition is really good with a tiny amount of age appropriate wear. They are extremely heavy for their size and are very well made and measure 7 1/2”W x 5”H.
