Pair of Italian Chiavari brass chairs from the middle of the century, Italy, 1940s-1950s. Newly covered with ocean blue Brussels velvet. Brass with original patina. Sturdy and solid! Originally designed by Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi and manufactured since the early 19th century in the Ligurian town of Chiavari, Italy. The Chiavari chair, also called Chiavarina or Tiffany chair, is a wooden chair in Ligurian design. Much later the Chiavari chair was made of brass, like the ones on sale here.
