This film, the fifth in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions, was directed by Lewis Gilbert, marking the start of his three-film tenure with the franchise. The screenplay, loosely inspired by Ian Fleming’s 1964 novel, was penned by Roald Dahl. During production, it was announced that Sean Connery would retire from his role as Bond, though he later returned for “Diamonds are Forever” in 1971 and “Never Say Never Again” in 1983. Artist Frank McCarthy (1924-2002) contributed to the promotional artwork, which included three distinct posters showcasing Connery in various iconic scenes: in a bathtub surrounded by women, with the memorable Little Nelly aircraft, and within the volcano. Alongside three British posters, the advertising team also crafted three larger-format posters for the US subway market. This superb large posters comes with a timeless made to measure custom black frame.
