Vintage Design
Very rare easy chairs designed by Sigurd Persson. Produced by Åry Stålmöbler in Sweden in 1968. Solid chromed steel frame with bent wood seat, newly made premium black leather cushion. Very good condition with few signs of wear and light age related patina. Cushions in mint condition. Sigurd Persson was foremost a trained silver smith and sculptor, but his works span over several fields, among them profane silver objects, jewelry, glass, sculpture and applied arts objects. During the 1960s Persson had a collaboration with Åry Stålmöbler and produced limited ranges of furniture during this decade. The items from his furniture production are few and hardly surface on the market today. Sigurd Perssons work is displayed in Museums world wide. he is represented in Sweden at, Nationalmuseum, Nordiska Museet as well as Röhsska Museet. Abroad His works have been acquired by Musée des Arts Décoratife in Paris and Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York to name a few. He is regarded one of the greatest designers in Sweden during the 20th century. Price for the pair.
