Vintage Design
A house bar and four bar stools, designed by Prof. Herta-Maria Witzemann for a villa near Tübingen (Germany), manufactured by Erwin Behr, Germany, teak construction on four legs, black coated metal base, the barstools with woven cane backrests, loose circular seat cushions. Measures: Bar height approximate 108 cm, width approximate 180 cm, depth approximate 60 cm Barstool: Height of seat approximate 80 cm, width approximate 46 cm, depth approximate 46 cm Herta-Maria Witzemann was born in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg (Austria), in 1909. Between 1938 and 1940 she studied at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts. Her teacher in architecture was Prof. Oswald Haerdtl. In 1952 she became a professor for interior and furniture design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. She designed series-produced furniture for numerous renowned companies, including Knoll International, Thonet, Wilde and Spieth and Erwin Behr. Provenance: formerly part of the interior decoration of a villa near Tübingen, Germany.
