Contemporary Design
Side table with black Australian acacia and oak ‘quercus robur’ top. The legs are made of tropical sapele and iroko wood. This piece of furniture is another example, within the collection of the craftsman, of the respect and recovery of materials to create unique pieces. The combination of the four woods, with cuttings from other works, makes it a unique creation.
The design processes of the Galician craftsman Agustín Soage are often conditioned by the use of remains of fine wood that in the vast majority of carpentries would be used for firewood or simply discarded. Thus, each piece is unique and enhances the beauty, nobility and quality of the materials that arrive at the workshop of its author.
