A superb quality Dutch antique silver-plated marriage wager cup dating from the 19th century. The cup is formed as a lady with a bell shaped body formed as a long skirt heavily embossed with scroll patterning with bird heads, flowers and leaves. The lady has a short body wearing a tightly fitting boddice and holds her arms outstretched holding up two openwork supports with dragon head finials with a swivelling cup mounted between the supports. The cup is again finely embossed and decorated. The cup is not apparently marked and has a silver-plated finish.
